Pour Over

Brewing with the Hario V60 allows one to brew a single cup of drip coffee with no excess and be in complete control of the brewing process.

Step 1: Prepare

Have at least 500 grams of hot water between 200 and 205 degrees Fahrenheit on hand in a gooseneck kettle.

Step 2: Preheat and rinse

Fold and rinse the filter to ensure that there is no paper flavor and this will also preheat the cup or carafe. Be sure to empty the cup of water before brewing.

Step 3: Measure

Weigh out 20 grams of freshly ground (medium coarseness) coffee and place it into the brewer so they are evenly dispersed.

Step 4: Bloom

Zero out the scale and evenly saturate the coffee with a circular pouring pattern of 40 to 50 grams of the water and let it bloom for about 30 seconds.

 Step 5: Heat water

Evenly pour more water in every 10-15 seconds until the scale reads 320 grams of water.

Step 6: Enjoy
Remove the brewer and enjoy a beautiful cup of coffee. Remove the brewer and enjoy a beautiful cup of coffee.
